Interdisciplinary PSTs An interdisciplinary PST addresses a problem that spans at least two disciplines, e.g. math and science, social studies, art, English, etc. Most PSTs for regular elementary classrooms are interdisciplinary, some PSTs used in middle school teams are interdisciplinary, but few high school PSTs are interdisciplinary. Another way of looking at a PST in any discipline is to notice that because of the use of specific critical and creative thinking skills verbs from our thinking skill program throughout the problem solving process, all PSTs are interdisciplinary – each PST promotes the English Language Arts / Literacy process standards and it also promotes the content standards in at least one other discipline.
